Mwango'mbe A.W., . (1990) The effect of some fungicides on formation of appressoria in Colletotrium coffeanum Noack the usual agent of coffee berry disease. [Proceedings Paper]
Abstract
The effect of the three fungicides used in this study on the type of conidial and total percent germination of the three strains of Colletotrichum coffeanum was quite distinct. Compared the germination in distilled sterile water fungicides decreased the percent of conidial germination and also seemed to influence the type of spore germination of C. coffeanum strains. Appressoria formation varied according to the fungicide and fungicide concentration. The practical implications of the effect of these fungicides on the type of conidial germination are discussed in relation to the control of this fungus in the field
