Abstract

Among several non-systemic fungicides belonging to different chemical groups tested at farmer's fields; dithiocarbamates were highly effective in controlling both of infection i.e. primary as well as secondary which continue to appear in opium growing area of Rajasthan throughout the growth e.g. seedling rosette elongation bud formation flowering and capsule. Primary and secondary infection reduce 5-25 percent seed as well as latex yield every year. And detail investigation revealed that seed treatment with dithane flowable 0.6 percent decreased the primary infection by 40.4 percent whereas spraying of this fungicides at 15 days interval not only controlled the primary infection but also increased the latex and seed yields. Germination and vigour of the plants were found to increase when seed treatment was done with dithiocarbamates at different concentrations
