Estimation of oxygen consumption by tiger prawns Penaeus monodon

Citation

Rosly Hassan, . and Shahrom Mohamed, . (1992) Estimation of oxygen consumption by tiger prawns Penaeus monodon. [Proceedings Paper]

Abstract

For 2-25 g. P. monodon at temperatures of 28-30 degrees C and 25-27 ppt the oxygen consumption rate on a 2-hr respiration ranged from 0.2-0.7 mg O2 g to the power of -1 h to the power of -1. Relationship between consumption rate per unit weight with weight is linear or approximated linearity. Smaller shrimps respired more actively and consumed relatively more oxygen per unit weight
