Abstract

Fruit trees in Malaysia are still commonly propagated by marcotting approach grafting and budding. Recently cleft grafting and stem cutting techniques have been developed for a number of fruit trees viz. duku langsat and mangosteen. Further work on these two techniques is now concentrated mainly on simplifying the process improving the grafting and rooting success reducing post grafting and rooting losses and their practical application in producing different planting materials for different needs
