Abstract
The objective of a Malaysian Standard is to define clear and unambigous provisions in order to facilitate national and international trade and communication. One of the main functions of the Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia SIRIM is to prepare Malaysian Standards for all industrial sectors. The preparation is based on an internationally accepted system which requires consensus by all sectors concerned. The mechanism of Malaysian Standards preparation the list of standards for fresh and processed fruits and the composition of the Technical Committee on fresh and processed fruits are given
