Abstract
This study involves the establishment of two species of Toona namely T. sureni and T. sinensis in their natural habitats. The mortality factors are different for both species. Drought contributed towards seeding mortality for T. sureni whereas physical damage for example fallen branches contributes greatly to the death of T. sinensis seedings. Shade plays an inportant role in seeding establishment for both species which are photophytic.
