Abstract

A phytochemical study on the acetone extract of the lichen Ramalia dumeticola species yielded five compounds comprising of depsides triterpenes and dibenzofuran. Structures of the isolated compounds were determined by spectroscopic analyses and chemical tests and identified as atranorin;2 4' -di-O-methynorsekikaic acid; 7 beta-acetoxy-22-hydroxyhopane; 7 beta 22-dihydroxyhopane and usnic acid.
