Abstract

The objective of the study were to investigate the effects of different breeder broiler native chick and layer on growth parameter and tenderness of meat. Seven-day-old broiler native chicks and layers 20 birds per breedswere kept in individual cages from 7 to 42 days of age. Feed and water were freely available to chick at all time. Growth performance ADG; average daily gain and FCR; feed conversion ratio of broiler chicks were greater than native chicks and layers P0.01. Breast meat of native chick was shown to tenderness than all chicks but it did reach statistical differ P0.05. Firmness of meat in thigh of native chicks was better than layer P0.05 but there was no statistical differ P0.05 when compared with broiler. From the present study it can be concluded that native chick were contained less tenderness of breast meat and more tenderness of thigh met. These parameters would be preferred by consumer.
