Abstract
Four species of volant and 11 species of non-volant small mammals were trapped during a seven-day scientific expedition to the Ulu Melalap area in Tenom. All species recorded were common to lowland secondary forest habitats. Most notable species were the plantain squirrel. Callosciurus notatus and the house rat Rattus rattus.
