Rozli Alwi, . (2001) Sterilizer station design and operation: a comprehensive approach - Sime Darbys experience. [Proceedings Paper]
Abstract
The method of sterilizing the fresh fruit bunches FFBhas remained the same since it was first introduced to the industry. In the early years vertical sterilizers were used and its design had limitations to the increasing sterilization capacity. As processing capacity increased horizontal sterilizers of varying sizes and capacities were installed. The design is still in use to this day as there are no better replacements yet. Development work on continuous sterilization are being developed by MPOB and if it succeeds this process would revolutionize the operation of the sterilization station.
