Abstract
Moulting in poultry is a normal process as it occurs periodically involving the process of shedding and renewing feathers and stopage of egg laying. Unfortunately during this process the bird stops producing eggs for 3 to 4 months due to ovarium regression. This ovarium regression is due to the high level 3-4 fold higher of prolactin in the blood. The method for solving moulting has included fasting and restricting consumption. The use of restricting food has resulted in the faster time for birds to come back to produce eggs but this method causes decreased immunity and suscceptability to many diseases. This experiment was aimed to accelerate the moulting process without decreasing immune response of birds. Forty birds were used in the experiment. Each bird in the control group received 0.2 cc PBS while the treatment groups received 50 ug 100 ug and 200 ug for groups 1 2 and 3 respectively once 1M at the start of moulting. The result of the experiment showed that the optimal dose of anti-prolactin for dorab's hen laying hen and duck were 50 ug 100 ug and 200 ug with these treatments the bird started to produce egg again at 16-17 days 15-18 days and 1821 days after injection of anti prolactin respectively.
