Abstract
Since 2003 Indonesia has been shocked by Bird Flu cases with H5N1subtype Avian Influenza viruses infected poultry especially chicken. These viruses gave psychological impact to chicken sellers because of declining demand of chicken. Even more the viruses gave psychological impact to consumer too. They became afraid to eat chicken meat. The government had already given information and education about this virus to citizens. The purpose of his program was to reduce the psychological impact. The aim of this study was to know the psychological impact of chicken consumers and sellers after they knew about H5N1 Avian Influenza virus and the effectiveness of the information and education program to reduce the fear of consumers to chicken. In this study we collected data by questionnaire method that spread to chicken consumers and sellers in market in Surabaya. Up till now this research is still ongoing.
