Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of intramammary injection of dibenzoa l pyrene DBP in female Sprague Dawley rats. The rats were injected intramammillary i.m once with DBP SIGMA-ALDRICH dissolved in corn oil SIGMA-ALDRICH at 15 mg/kg of body weight. Control rats were injected i.m with corn oil only. The rats were kept for 12 weeks and sacrificed for further examination of the mammary glands and other organs. The mammary glands were enlarged. Microscopic examination of the enlarged mammary glands was consistent with invasive lobular carcinoma lLC.
