Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to determine the influence of Tasik'98 infectious bursal disease virus infection on the amount of chicken apoptotic bursa cell. Twenty chickens were divided into 2 groups. Chickens in Group I were infected with 1000 TCID 50 of Tasik '98 isolate infectious bursal disease virus through intraocular peroral and intracloacal routes. Chickens in group II were treated with phosphate buffer saline trough intraocular peroral and intracloacal routes as placebo. Randomly five chickens from each group were sacrificed on 24 and 48 day post infection. The bursa was collected to determine the number of apoptotic cells by Tunell Assay using Apoptotic kit Apoptag. The result showed that the number of apoptotic cells in bursa was significantly different p 0.05 between infected chicken and non-infected chicken.
