Abstract
The objective of this study was to evaluate creatinine clearance CrCl and urine protein to creatinine ratio UPC in rats with adenine-induced CRF. Sixteen male rats were randomly assigned into two groups namely Control and Adenine group. Adenine group was fed with 0.75 adenine Sigma-Aldrich diet daily for 6 weeks and continued feeding on adenine-free diet daily for 4 weeks. Blood and 12-hour urine samples were collected at the end of the experimental period. Serum and urine creatinine concentrations and urine protein concentration were analysed using an Automatic Biochemistry Analyser Biorex TRX7010 Manheim Japan. CrCl and UPC were calculated. Results showed CrCl and UPC of Adenine group were markedly decreased and increased respectively which were consistent with CRF.
