Abstract
Goat production systems are more diverse and markets more varied than for many of the more traditional livestock species in the world. Finishing goats in feedlots on high concentrate diets is not a widespread practice and goats are generally used more efficiently when utilizing browse and forage plants. Pen feeding of goats may achieve faster growth rates and allow for finishing at specific target weights Lupton et al. 2008. Characteristics and ingredients of the diets affect dry matter intake average daily gain ADG and feed efficiency FE. Intensive search is for alternatives to antioxidants in feed such as Vitamin E Andrograghis paniculata and Curcumin. This study was conducted to investigate and evaluate different antioxidants such as vitamin E Andrograghis paniculata AP Curcumin Extract of Turmeric on feedlot performance include average daily weight gain feed conversion ratio or feed efficiency and daily feed intake of Kacang male kids Malaysia. Locally available breeds of livestock are important economic resources. The goat is of major importance as a source of animal products in warm climates Kirton I988.The Kacang goat is a common native breed in the Malaysia. Growth in animal is defined by an increase in body cells and growth and differentiation of body cells Bathaei and Loroy 1996. One of the important oils is palm oil and one of oil palm byproducts is oil palm frond - a major feed resources in animal ration in Malaysia and cheaper than other feedstuffs. OPF alone is a good source of fiber containing about 45 CF with a nutritive value generally between straw and hay. Optimum inclusion level in the rations for ruminant is 30. Alimon 2005.
