Abstract
Chemical studies on the leaves of Piper lonchitis have been carried out. The sample was macerated in petroleum ether followed by ethyl acetate to afford the crude extracts. The crude EtOAc extract was then purified using chromatography techniques to afford caryophyllene epoxide 1 and allyl cathechol 2.
