Abstract

In 1997/1998 PORIM conducted a nationwide survey to assess the quality of crude palm oil CPO produced by the mills in Malaysia. In this survey a higher level of copper content in the oil compared to that previous survey was observed. Thus an investigation was carried out to determine the source of copper pick-up so that preventive measures can be initiated to arrest the unwelcome trend. This preliminary findings highlights the likely sources where such pick-up happened.
