Noor Atinah Ahmad, . (2003) MATLAB implementation of spatio-temporal population models. [Proceedings Paper]
Abstract
This paper reviews several techniques to implement spatial and temporal dynamics of population using MATLAB. Typical population models are used and MATLAB implementations are explored for a model of a single replicating species and a model with two interacting species. In both cases the population is assumed to disperse in random two-dimensional movement. Inclusion of environmental factors such as varying landscape structures and seasonal factors that can affect the dynamics of the population is also discussed.
