Abstract

The paper discusses the findings of the study on the perceptions of primary school teachers regarding the status of environmental education in Sabah Malaysia. One hundred and eighty questionnaires were distributed. The collected data were analysed using SAS. Findings indicated that 1 All goals were important 2 Majority of the teachers said the environmental education materials accomplished goals only partially 3 Majority of them said they needed regular training 4 Majority of them were willing to participate in training 5 Significant differences existed between the importance of goals and materials and 6 No significant differences attributed to gender location of schools and divisions. The study had implications for goals and their accomplishments. Recommendations included a need to incorporate goals in schools curriculum provide regular training courses and recommendations for further research.
