Abstract

WWFM believes that considering the many different ways people learn and the various contexts in which they learn environmental education should therefore where possible be integrated in all disciplines and should employ formal non-formal and informal methods and effective means of communication and education. WWFMs education Programme consists of formal education component and non-formal education component. Under the formal education component WWF Malaysia works with various government ministries and departments like the Ministry of Education and Departments of Environment the Fisheries Department and also local authorities to promote EE in curricular and co-curricular resource activities in schools. WWF Malaysia work in teaching training educational resource materials productions establishment of model green schools establishment of regional environmental or nature education centres a mobile education unit and environmental camps. Under the non-formal education component WWFM works with the DOE local authorities local universities the Ministry of Youth and Sports other goverment departments and community groups to promote environment education among members of the general community. WWFMs work in this are include the Pencala River Project the Kenong Forest Park Sustainable Community Education Project Rakan Cinta Alam Programme and also activities with various religious and faith group in the country.
