Abstract
Water quality is one of the main components in Environmental Impact Assessment EIA studies. It is known that EIA studies function as a tool to plan and to predict any impact towards the environmental surrounding when a development project is initiated. As for the water quality studies water samples were taken for laboratory tests and also done in-situ to get the existing environmental information. Following this rivers where the water samples were taken area classified by using the Water Quality Index WQI. The additional information such as land use and surrounding development activities are a very important during the report writing. After that potential significant impacts in the construction and operational phases are predicted. And finally the mitigation measures and the monitoring program are proposed minimize potential impacts towards the environment and the people who live at the project site. When the report is complete it is submitted to the Chief of Environmental Quality at Department of Environmental DOE for evaluation. If the report is not complete based on the criteria listed therefore additional information is added and some modifications should be made. If the project activities produce critical potential impacts then a detail EIA report is required.
