Abstract

The Pharmacokinetics of artesunate ARS and dihydroartemisinin DHA was studies in rats after a single oral administration of 150 mg/kg of artesunate. The drug was administered to different batches at temperature of 25C. The stability of artesunate was found varies as a function of pH unpublished data. Artesunate was highly unstable at gastric pH as compared to in plasma because of the rapid conversion of artesunate to dihydroartemisinin in the stomach. The mathematical model deals with the rate of changes in artesunate from the stomach to the blood with respect to time. Michaelis-Menten model will be used to consider any possibilities that plasma esterase or any other organs affecting the result.
