Abstract
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. has been engaged in research and development of low NOx combustion technologies. It has successfully developed the compact advanced-PM Pollution Minimum burner with the MACT Mitsubishi Advanced Combustion Technology system and applied this combination to the Talin 5 500MW natural gas fired boiler and the Linkou 2 300MW pulverized coal fired boiler in Taiwan as retrofit work in 1999. This paper presents an outline of the boiler modification work and the operating results of the Mitsubishi advanced-PM burner and MACT system.
