Abstract
An assessment of the relationship between crop performance and agro-ecological zones were carried out for starfruit and papaya. Three agro-ecological zones i.e. Perlis and Kelantan Zone 1 Melaka Zone 2 and Pahang Zone 3 and three agro-environmental factors i.e. climate soil properties and crop management practice were investigated on their influence on the yield of both crops. The study reveals that the yield of starfruit and papaya were strongly influence by the climatic factors especially rainfall soil properties and crop mangement. In drier and wetter areas with low fertiliser application the yield of both crops are low. However its can be improved with some modification of the situation by certain practices like irrigation and fertilization.
