Abstract
For use and conservation of animal genetic resources the methods for evaluating genetic diversity and sustainable production system were reported. The highest correlation with the true genetic diversity was shown when marker information was used to modify coancestry. The rotational cross and back cross systems minimize the maintenance costs whereas the F1 production system was good for keeping genetic diversity.
