Abstract

Urea is a common fertilizer in the sub tropics.Generally its efficiency is rather low but can be improved in a number of ways.To achieve higher efficiency urea can be upgraded by increasing the granular size and by adding other nutrients.fertilizers to urea.A few examples have been highlighted namely iLGU-Large Granular Urea 6-8mm which is particularly superior to common urea when used on irrigated rice ii ureaboron a granulated fertilizer for use on boron deficient crops where boron can also make urea more efficient by depressing NH3-volatilization and iv UREAS a combination of nitrogen and sulphur based on urea and ammonium sulphate and can be very efficient.
