Arditti J., . (2005) Resupination. [Proceedings Paper]
Abstract
The labellum is uppermost and gynostemium lowermost in orchid buds. The buds turn as they open thereby reversing the positions of these floral segments in open blossoms. The process of turning is called resupination. It is a gravitropic phenomenon which conforms to the Cholodny-Went theory of gravitropism.
