Abstract
To cope with the recent decline of natural forest resources plantation of fast growing indigenous species has an important role in Peninsular Malaysia. The SSFP Project has conducted species selection trials of fast growing indigenous species since October 2000. This paper reports initial growth and survival of twenty-eight 28 hopeful indigenous species including seven 7 Dipterocarps and seven 7 Dipterocarps and twenty-one 21 Non-Dipterocarps species.
