Nitami T., . (2005) Systemizing work time study and standardizing work time analysis transition probability and system dynamics. [Proceedings Paper]
Abstract
A variety of operation methods are being used in mountainous conditions in Japanese forestry harvesting sites. Most of the operations suffer from low productivity mainly due to the steep terrain but also difficulties are commonly encountered in promoting cooperative operation for synchronized harvesting with adjacent forest owners. In order to show how a harvesting operation will perform production normalizing the operation is inevitable through standardizing the operation system. Here a work time presentation and analysis based on PC work-sheet is discussed and versatile standard representation and evaluation are proposed. The operation system is monitored through a PDA time recorder and the work record is processed to find work element transition probability TP and the systems itself is presented by System Dynamics SD and block diagrams which will simulate the operation system. This will be applicable for various conditions of operation systems and is expected to be utilized for determining harvesting productivity at sites.
