Abstract

The anaerobic rumen fungus Neocallimastix sp. NLRI 003 produces diverse fibre degrading enzymes. The purpose of this study was to compare the fungal protein expression among different carbohydrate sources media using 1-D zymogram and 2-D gel electrophoresis. According to 1-D zymogram 6 bands were detected which showed endoglucanase activities and the intensity of each bands were vary among the different carbohydrate sources four bands were detected which showed xylanase activities and the intensity of each bands were vary from the results of 2-D gel electrophoresis 14 spots were detected only from the fungal 143 spots were detected only from the fungal mat proteins. Differential expressions of protein among different carbohydrate sources are under analsis. Further experiments are required to analyse fungal protein expressions.
