Abstract

Using Brahman steers utilization of mixed silage prepared with sugar cane brewersgrain and rice straw was evaluated and compared with that of rice straw which is the main roughage in the dry season in northeast Thailand. Voluntary feed intake of mixed silage was higher than that of rice straw. Both total digestible energy TDN content and digestible crude protein DCP content of mixed silage were higher than rice straw. Results showed that this mixed silage would potentially be valuable feed in the dry season.
