One other interesting use for banana is for landscaping. The landscape industry is a fast emerging and money-spinning industry very much in tandem with the fast increasing affluent society. The banana diversity therefore can be put to good use whereby several ornamental species M. coccinea M. velutina M. ornata M. violascens which belong to the section Callimusa and Rhodochlamys can and have been used as landscape plants. There is also potential to some wild and lesser known cultivated varieties.
