Abstract
Thin light and strong structural wall board SWB has been newly developed by impregnating phenol adhesives whose molecular weight distribution is controlled to fiber mat made a strong and long kenaf best fiber which is woven 3-dimensionally. The features of SWB are as follows: 1 Its weight is 2/3 of structural plywood while the wall-ratio is higher 2 High moisture permeability prevents internal condensation which causes rotting of wood components and occurence of molds or ticks. These features contribute to higher resistance of houses and reduction of workload due to the boards thin and light-weight characteristics and the demand for SWB is expected to increase amid the growing demand for safe houses and reduction of work period.
