Abstract
The capsanthin-capsorubin synthase CCS gane is involved in the final stages of carotenoid biosynthetic pathway in chilli fruits. CCS catalyses the conservation of violaxanthin and antheraxanthin into capsanthin and capsorubin red pigments of chilli fruit when the fruit start to develop colors formation. In order to elucidate the gene function an antisense construct of this gene was produced and will be transformed into chilli plant. 444 and 728 bp fragment CCS-antisense gene were cloned saperately into pCAMBIA 1301 vector.
