Abstract
Stimulation technology is widely used by the rubber growers to increase rubber tree productivity. A total of 1815 hand pollination seedlings were evaluated with stimulation and non stimulation in the field. Out of the total about 121 potential high yielding propegenies were selected for further evaluation in the Small Scale Clone Trial. The stimulation with 1.25 percent ethephon concentration gave a wide ranged of yield increased between 2 percent to 1085 percent but negative coefficient correlation r0.5500 for the percentage yield increase and non-stimulated compared to high yielding progenies. Two Small Scale Clone Trial at RRIES Kota Tinggi and RRIES Sg Buloh showed similar results. The correlation coefficient between the non-stimulated yield and the percentage yield increase is negative and significant -0.5039. Although the non-stimulated yield is highly significantly correlated with the stimulated yield 0.8123. From this trial it was found that although the high yielding clones showed low to medium response to stimulation but they still had higher yields after stimulation as compared to clones with lower yield but highly responsive to stimulation.
