Yap K.T, . and Ooi C.H., . A recent sighting of wrinkled hornbills Aceros corrugatus corrugatus at Taman Negara Malaysia. pp. 28-29. ISSN 0128-048X
Abstract
This latest sighting of at least six Wrinkled Hornbills in Taman Negara is significant. It confirms the continued presence of this rare hornbill in Taman Negara probably one of the very few places left in Peninsular Malaysia where a healthy population of this specialised lowland species can be sustained. We are interested to know if there have been any other observations of hornbills without tail feathers as even young birds have full tail feathers. Do you think our Wrinkled male lost its entire tail due to a natural moult process or had it been involved in a titanic struggle with a monkey or gibbon
