Liew Voon Kheong, . Ganoderma in oil palm replants - its detection in FELDA Taib Andak Malaysia and implications. pp. 18-21. ISSN 0127-9564
Abstract
Ganoderma basal stem rot has been reported in FELDA Taib Andak and the disease has killed some replants which are only eight years old. The death of the replants implies that the disease needs to be given serious consideration during the process of replanting. This is because of the likelihood that some of the old palms could have already been infected by the disease and these became new sources of infection to the replants when debri of the old palms were left in the fields during replanting. Such sources of inoculum must be destroyed if the risk of replants contracting the disease is to be minimized.
