Abstract

A study on the palm oil mill effluent decanter sludge produced by FELDA Lepar Utara 6 mill showed that the organic waste contained high contents of macro nutrients (N P K Mg) and micro nutrients (B Fe Cu Zn Mn). The waste generated was adequate for it to be used as an organic fertilizer. Based on this a pilot project to utilise this waste was carried out. Two types of fertilizer were produced namely composted and non-composted sludge both fortified with inorganic supplements.
