Abstract
Enrichment planting is considered to be on integral part of the hill forest silvicultural system in Peninsular Malaysia. This effort has not been persued aggresively in the past due to poor results and high cost of establishment and maintenance. The paper discusses the recent research findings relating to growth performance of some important Dipterocarp species with particular reference to light nutrients mycorrhizal association quality of planting stock and follow-up tending. The paper also highlights future direction in enrichment planting and research needs to improve growth performance and to reduce cost.
