Abstract
The population of oil palm pollinating weevils (Elaeidobius kamerunicus) is low in new oil palm plantations in Kalimantan as is expected in new development schemes initially and removing the male inflorescences during ablation rounds further delays population buildup. The haze in 1997 may have affected weevil activity indirectly causing poor fruit set.
