Abstract
Matching the needs of the organisation and those of individual members is a challenge to be addressed by today's organisations. While organisation views corporate profitability as its reason for existence employees view fulfillment of their diverse needs as of paramount importance. This divergence in needs and expectations creates latent friction that if left unchecked impacts negatively on performance both of the individual and of the organisation. The response of managers to organisational life is varied such as resignation psychologically dropping out etc. Those who stay in plantations must necessarily make adjustments to the life styles characterised by frequent relocations increasing work pressure etc. Business organisations on their part are compelled to be more sensitive to the divergence in needs and to adopt appropriate intervention strategies to minimise the potential disruptions to organisational and personal health. In the final analysis all parties must strive for a win-win solution.
