Abstract
Mineral fertilisers for oil palm can be substituted with mulch of empty fruit bunches (EFB). Mechanical application of EFB is ideal but involves higher level of organisation and cost. In plantations where labour is available manual in-field EFB distribution has proved to be practical and cost effective.
