Abstract

In West Kalimantan pink disease (Corticum salmonicolor) and root disease are the two diseases on rubber which require control measures. Effective control of pink disease is achieved using a 1:2:3 slurry of sulphur dust hydrated lime and water. The sulphur formulation is particularly suited to smallholders in West Kalimantan since Bordeaux mixture is expensive for the poor farmers and the copper content adversely affects the quality of latex.
