Abstract
Salmonella infections in cattle resulted in abortions and mortalities in adults and calves. The abortion were asymptomatic and usually occured in the middle or late gestation. Natural immunity against salmonella abortions was evident in hoe reared adults. Necropsy findings in adults resembled those of babesiosis. Infections in calves were characterized by high mortality and the most common lesions were enteritis pneumonia septicaemia and liver damage. Virulence and scale of salmonella infections depended upon bacterial load in the environment. Though S. dublin had been the major isolate S. typhimurium had recently become more frequent
