Abstract
Both permethrin and acephate as insecticides are found to be good in controlling the major tobacco pests. The concentration of active ingredients can be reduced by 50 percent (permethrin 0.005 acephate 0.05 a.i.) and the spraying interval can be extended to 20 days per spray without significant effect on the yield and quality of tobacco leaves. Advantages gathered from this study in area of integrated pest management are discussed
