Abstract
A recent detailed revision of Anerincleistus Korth. and Oxyspora DC. (family Melastomataceae) includes 55 species and 14 varieties which occur in the Himalayas Assam SE. Asia Indo-China the Malay Peninsular the Philippines Borneo Sumatra and the Celebes. The two genera in the Malay Peninsula have 23 species and 1 variety 19 of which can only be found in this region. Included here are taxonomic discussions general morphological features keys distribution patterns and other notes
