Abstract

Marine fish in Akuarium Tuanku Abdul Rahman was exposed to low level of copper sulphate added as a prophylaxis to prevent marine white spot. In the present study several marine fish from an aquarium were analysed for their copper content to examine the possibility of uptake of the metal from the water. Results of the analyses indicate that the levels of copper in the fish were low and were comparable to marine fish from the coastal waters. There was no evidence to suggest bioaccumulation of the metal in the fish
