Abstract
Post-harvest losses occur in both methods of harvesting i.e. manually as well as mechanically. Results showed that post-harvest losses due to manual harvesting are between 1.7 percent - 7.2 percent whereas losses due to mechanisation are about 0.9 percent -4.4 percent. Manual harvesting are consequential to higher losses on two practices i.e. direct seeding and mechanical transplanting. Losses from direct seeding are much higher than transplanting. It has been observed that 72.1 percent of the yield losses during the manual harvesting occur during threshing and cutting
