Abstract
Broccoli (Brassica oleracea cv. botrytis L. sub var. cymosa Lam.) has been successfully cultivated in the lowlands of Peninsular Malaysia and has produced yields comparable to that in Cameron Highlands. Of the six heat and rain tolerant hybrids tested by MARDI only Green King and 105 F1 hybrids consistently produced high yields of marketable-sized heads. Yields obtained ranged between 1.9 and 5.5 t/ha at Permatang Kuang and Machang Bubuk in Seberang Perai. The lower yields were attributed to damage of the developing flower heads caused by heavy rainfall
